Greetings to all Club members. I hope all is well with you and yours. Together with some committee discussion we have been considering how things have shaped up during the past months. Following some reflection I reckon we can progress with guarded optimism. We still need to be reactive and proactive as events unfold, and as our Secretary agrees, we may be able to hold our AGM as planned in the community centre. There are encouraging discussions with the Council. As for our sport, many members have reported very good catches on both rivers despite the low water levels at times. Some salmon have arrived and catches reported. River bank maintenance has suffered a little due to restrictions but we may be able to organise work parties soon. Meantime some enterprising members have been cutting back and improving paths and access to pools. Most recently, I have cut a path down to the Drybridge dam today, and if a clumsy lump like myself can do it I reckon most of the membership can! Again it is a tribute to the quality of your talents and commitment that so much has been achieved in these terrible times. Next season should see us back with face to face meetings, competitions and outings. I have asked Cliff to post this and update my President’s briefing with what I believe is a welcome and appropriate message of optimism for Dreghorn Angling Club. Many thanks gentlemen. Bill Giddings, President.
