PRESIDENTS POST.
Hello my fellow members.
Times are changing.
The media has become alive with concern about the state of our rivers.
Pollution will hopefully be regarded as completely unacceptable in the near future.
This is a change in the way society values our natural waters.
I am grateful to the celebrities who have used their influence to highlight this issue.
The Telegraph has reported a farmer in Monmouthshire receiving a twelve month sentence for the destruction of a stretch of the river Lugg which he dredged and destroyed the bankings.
This is the way to go.
Make the polluters pay.
On a happier note despite having had a pollution incident last month, which I can’t comment on as it is still in the hands of Fish Legal, our waters resilience has provided sport with trout and a report of a lost spring salmon.
Best of sport to all our members.
